Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfilment, happiness, love and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is an original musical for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humour and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.

Curious Tales’ production of Ordinary Days by Adam Gwon was performed on the 5th-16th March 2019 at the Bread and Roses Theatre in Clapham.

This production was by arrangement with R&H Theatricals.

To highlight the theme of connectivity prominently featured in Ordinary Days, Curious Tales reimagined the musical by calling on the artistry skills of Max Panks and Kathryn Kitchener. The performance featured live art being created throughout the duration of the piece, with the characters of Jason and Claire painting on two separate canvases on each side of the stage. The emotional climax of the musical saw the two pieces being brought together to make one united painting, illustrating the two lovers who could never quite connect finally coming together as one. The characters of Warren and Deb also doodled on the floor, creating a huge mind map of their inner thoughts and feelings in the big city.
